Thomas E. BEEMAN, PhD has over 40 years of senior healthcare executive experience, over 25 years as a CEO. Dr. Beeman served as SVP for Operations at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in the 1990’s, then as CEO of Saint Thomas Health Services in Nashville, Tennessee where he acquired four hospitals and integrated them with Saint Thomas. In Pennsylvania he served over ten years as President and CEO of Lancaster General Health a $1.2 B integrated health system in south central PA. When he led his system into full integration with the $6 B University of Pennsylvania Health System, he was made COO for Regional Operations. Dr. Beeman also retired as a Rear Admiral, (U) after 33 years in the Navy Reserves ending his career as the Assistant Deputy Surgeon General for Reserve Affairs. He is the co-author of two books and numerous academic articles. In addition to a PhD from Vanderbilt, Dr. Beeman holds a BS and MA from Saint Joseph University and an MBA from Widener University. He has lectured widely and taught at the University level at both Saint Joseph’s and Vanderbilt. He serves on numerous Boards of Directors including two University Boards. He resides with his wife Elizabeth in suburban Philadelphia and has a grown daughter.
