Executive MBA TripUSA® for Year Two (in 2015)
TRIPUSA® TO VISIT FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES – In Year Two of the Program
This customized trip to the USA is designed specifically for the AUI Executive MBA cohort. During this trip, AUI’s Executive MBA students will have private visits to Fortune 500 Companies to meet their peers and understand how these leading companies succeed in the 21st century.
The previous, 2014 TripUSA® was to Atlanta and included private visits to the headquarters of Coca-Cola, United Parcel Service, and CNN (Cable News Network). They attended a course on Strategic Management taught by a former Strategy Consultant. In addition to the course and meeting peer executives, the AUI Executive MBA cohorts enjoyed cultural and tourist venues.
For the April 2014 Cohorts, the 2015 TripUSA® is to Philadelphia and New York City in April 2015. It includes private visits to the headquarters of Fortune 100 and a private tour of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The exact companies will be chosen based on input from the Executive MBA cohorts during 2014 but may include JP Morgan, Ralph Lauren, Colgate-Palmolive, Hershey.

Strategic Mergers and Acquisitions (MGT 6311)
This course is an advanced reflection on the use of strategic mergers and acquisitions to boost the profitability and/or efficiency of organizations. Topics covered include the motives for mergers, case studies of successful and unsuccessful mergers/acquisitions, making the distinction between alliances, partnerships, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. Key business issues related to M&A are discussed: integrating different systems and culture, human resource management, planning and control. Special emphasis is given to the financial analysis of how to predict the overall benefits and risks.
